Bedtime for baby panda at the Taipei Zoo

It's always a struggle getting the little ones to go to sleep. They always want another bedtime story, this or that light on, or in the worst-case scenarios, they just refuse to sleep, period. What can be done? At least human toddlers can be kept in one spot while they do all their ranting and raving thanks to the trusty crib, but when it comes to pandas, it's a free-for-all.
In this video, which was uploaded in November 2013 and has been viewed over 3 million times, a rambunctious young panda goes on a free-spirited stroll around the block while Mom is having dinner. It gets to the point where she has to drop her delicious meal and escort the baby to a comfortable corner. Of course, just taking her child there isn't enough: She finally lulls the young one to sleep with a warm, motherly embrace.

Though WWF reports giant pandas don't usually reach sexual maturity until about 5 1/2 years old, it does state they are generally capable of being independent after 9 to 18 months old. The organization's website also notes giant pandas' life span ranges between 14 and 20 years in the wild, but that they can reach up to 30 years of age in supervised captivity.
