Rescued cow shows incredible affection for the caregivers who saved him

Dogs are known to be man's best friend. This is partly because they are so affectionate towards humans - more so than most other animals. But that doesn't mean that other animals can't be affectionate. That being said, it's probably safe to say that it's not easy to come across an animal of any kind as loving as this cow.
Meet Salvador, a cow rescued from a farm in Chile by the Santuario Igualdad Interespecie (Equality Sanctuary Interspecies). The sanctuary specializes in rescuing "farm animals," they explain on their website. "As a sanctuary, we tend to all the veterinarian and nutritional needs the rescued animals may need, as well as any emotional need they may have."

Salvador was in great need of care when the sanctuary caregivers rescued him. As a male cow, Salvador wasn't of great use for the dairy farm he was born at. The sanctuary website explains that since male cows don't give milk or gain enough weight, their fate never is too promising. They're either killed as soon as they're born or "they're kept alive for around four months in miserable life conditions," just to be sent to the slaughterhouse after that. When they found Salvador, he had been separated from his mother and kept in a 6.6 square feet box.
Six months later, Salvador is living the high life on a farm surrounded by friends. Despite the terrible conditions in which he was found, Salvador is again full of energy and life drive, displaying many of the behaviours a happy cow should have, like running and leaping around in excitement, Care2 explains. Salvador caregivers proudly share how he isn't scared anymore and show them incredible love and affection. Another very interesting fact about cows shared by Care2 is their memory. Due to their social nature, a cow remembers faces for a long time, and there have been cases of cows running towards people they've known to greet and cuddle with them.
