Horse and rider race into the arena, show the crowd what it means to be 'a lady'

Freestyle champions Kathy Burma and her horse Tejons Shine wowed a crowd with their performance set to Miranda Lambert's "Mama's Broken Heart." The pair showcased a variety of maneuvers including spins, rundowns, stops and backing up. Donned in a beautiful green gown, Burma performed a few moves one-handed, earning big cheers from the crowd.
In 2015, The pair competed at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. placing first. The 2016 Quarter Horse Congress begins October 6th.

Burma and Tejons Shine, of Hudson Wisconsin impressed the judges with their clean routine. The palomino mare and his owner took first place in the non-professional event, according to The American Quarter Horse Association.
Communication between rider and horse is key as judges want to see how quickly a horse responds to silent commands. Most participants don a costume and theme their ride to provide extra entertainment for the audience.
