Rare white bear cub spotted playing with ecstatic mother

For a majority of us, the likelihood of having a close encounter with a black bear is slim. Even more so a black bear with a white coat. And no, we’re not talking about a polar bear. We mean a black bear cub with almost white coat. Don’t believe us? Have a look at the intriguing video and see for yourself.
Environmental planning manager Arthur De Jong spotted the unusual bear cub and its mother near the resort community of Whistler, British Columbia.
Naturally, he snapped some photos of the curiously colored cub and sent them off to numerous bear experts for analysis.

There are dozens of possibilities out there that could explain the cub’s shade of brown. Maybe he was adopted? A crafty canine in disguise, perhaps?
In all seriousness, the most obvious and logical explanation is that the furry little guy is simply an albino. Speaking to The Huffington Post, De Jong described the cub as having a “caramel, light, sort of brownish sheen in its fur.” De Jong believes that this is the first time that such a unique looking black bear has been seen in the area.
While biologists want a close up of the cub’s pearly whites (pink-blue color would indicate the cub is indeed an albino), conservation officer Simon Gravel warns “selfie seekers” to keep their distance from the cub if they happen upon it. We are lucky enough to get this candid video that depicts the cub and mother at play.
