According to Iberian Nature, it is estimated there are approximately 1,500 brown bears living in the vast forests of Finland. During Finland’s cold winters, you’re unlikely to see any bears out in the snow covered forests, as they begin to hibernate in November through late March or early April. Bears are known to roam just about anywhere in mainland Finland, but they do try to avoid areas where people congregate.
