It's surprising enough to see a puppy and bear cub as best buddies, but this video shows you that even grown-up animals can put their (vast) differences aside and have a unique, head-turning friendship. Humble Bumble, a grizzly bear, and his friend Boychuck, a German Shepherd dog regularly hang out at the Earthfire Institute Wildlife Sanctuary and Retreat.
Humble Bumble is a unique bear. While he is large, most people notice something else about him: his surprising kindness. "... it is a gentleness, an innocence that reminds one of Lennie in Of Mice and Men. It is the expression of his face, in his movements-- the whole feeling that he emanates," that earned him his moniker according to Earthfire Institute.

He was adopted from the Earthfire Institute after a roadside zoo closed down. He was only a few weeks old when he was taken in by the sanctuary.

Humble Bumble is a shy bear and has a difficult time adjusting to change. Initially, the bear would sit alone and rock back and forth, but Boychuck encouraged the big bear to play. Check out the video above to see how well Humble Bumble and Boychuk play together!
