Lion loses his way, desperately roars for brother as night falls

Maybe the animal kingdom isn't that different from our own. This Smithsonian Channel video chronicles a young lion lured away by an attractive potential mate, only to find she's unavailable and he's lost contact with his family in his blind pursuit.
"Her spell is broken," the narrator says. "He doesn't think about direction. He's just got to put as much distance as possible between himself and that roar." According to Live Science, a majority of young male lions die in battle when wandering into another male's territory.

According to Live Science, most prides kick out male cubs when they are about two years of age. This leaves packs of brothers and male cousins roaming, often relying on each other for protection.
